The Gateshead Youth Championships..
The Gateshead Youth Championships was Sonkei's very own competition, running for 5 years it was open to all KUGB clubs & students.
We have a huge amount of support from our students & parents but also from other clubs, we are grateful to the companies & individuals who have sponsored a category over the years, these are all listed below along with the companies who also support us & where applicable there are clickable links.

The 5th Gateshead Youth Championships took place on Saturday 13th July 2019 at the Elgin Centre in Gateshead.
The Sensei Collin Schubert Award was presented to Zak Humphreys from Woolton/Garston.

We are also lucky enough to have the talented Andy Bramwell who photographs all our competitions & also the majority of our grading's & other events, when Andy isn't available Reece Bensley takes the photo's & is credited where necessary.

We have also been fortunate to have the talented Barry Mountford film 2 of our competitions & some other events, Barry is an excellent photographer but also enjoys videoing, he has his own studio, you tube channel & website, the link below takes you to his site.
The 4th Gateshead Youth Championships took place on Saturday 14th July again at The Elgin Centre in Gateshead.
The Sensei Collin Schubert Best Overall Award was presented to Denny Shy by Sensei Collin Schubert, photo credit to Andy Bramwell & Video credit to Reece Bensley with assistance from Chris Hulse.

The 3rd Gateshead Youth Championship took place on Saturday 15th July 2017 at the Elgin Centre in Gateshead.
The Sensei Collin Schubert Best Overall Award was presented to Dylan Gibson & Zak Humphreys by Sensei Jimmy Brennan - video credit to Barry Mountford & photo credit to Andy Bramwell.
The 2nd Gateshead Youth championships was held on Saturday 16th July 2016 again at Kingsmeadow School with 70 competitors from 11 clubs.

The 1st Gateshead Youth Championships was held on Sunday 16th August 2015 at Kingsmeadow Comprehensive School in Gateshead with 56 competitors from 9 clubs.
